Robert E. Shaw

Robert Shaw is a graduate of Northwestern University and he received an MM degree from Kellogg Business School. He has served on boards of MAC and the Sheil Catholic Center, as well as the field Museum Anthropology Alliance Steering Committee. Robert is a volunteer at Chicago Botanic Garden & Presidents Council and has served on numerous parish committees, including parish council chairman for five years and liturgy committee chairman for 12 years. In recent years, Robert has volunteered as a consultant and advisor to NUvention and undergraduate engineering design courses at Northwestern University. Before that, Robert spent nearly 30 years as the co-owner of Milex Products, Inc., a small, medical device company.
As an affiliate of the Segal Design Institute, Robert Shaw contributes to student design reviews and other Segal events throughout the academic year. Bob advises with several programs at the university, including the McCormick Advisory Committee, the mechanical engineering department, and the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He is an angel investor with several startup companies, and sits on the boards of several charitable organizations in the Chicago area.
Previously, for over 25 years Bob co-owned a medical device company called Milex Products, Inc. He served in the US Navy on nuclear submarines from 1970-1975.
