Tejas Shastry

Tejas Shastry is the CEO and Co-Founder of AMPY, a Chicago based company building smarter batteries for smartphones and wearables. It’s first consumer product is the AMPY MOVE Motion Charger, a wearable device that turns a user’s kinetic energy into power for their smartphones. AMPY launched on Kickstarter in fall of 2014, raised $300,000 in 30 days, and is currently in production and shipping. The company is working on miniaturizing their technology to incorporate into smartwatches, fitness trackers, and other wearable devices so they never have to be plugged into the wall. Shastry is a PhD Candidate at Northwestern University in Material Science and was recently named to Forbes 30 under 30. His expertise spans solar and renewable energy, energy harvesting, software and hardware development.
